Earwax Removal

Ear Irrigation is a procedure used to remove excess earwax from the ear. The ear naturally secretes wax to protect and lubricate the ear as well as to keep debris out and hinder bacterial growth Too much earwax or hardened earwax can cause a blockage in the ear resuling in earaches, ringing in the ears, or temporary hearing loss Removing excess earwax with irrigation is a safe way to minimise the risk of damage to the ear.

Tinnitus Assessment

More commonly known as “ringing in the ears”, tinnitus is generally a minor discomfort to everyday life. If you hear buzzing, ringing, , whistling, hissing or other unexplainable sounds or noise in your ears without any obvious acoustic stimulation, you are likely to have tinnitus.

Ear infections can cause mild Tinnitus, after recovering from your ear infection.

There is currently no direct cure but it can be treated. These treatments focus on reducing the intensity of tinnitus. In some cases a patient may experience an ear wax build up within the inner ear. In many cases, the signs of tinnitus will present following exposure to loud noise, after an illness, due to dietary changes or they may be triggered by certain medications. This also can be short term. Hearing aids are a common treatment recommendation.
